The MWC’s outreach ensemble, Volat, performs throughout the community and functions as a “small group” in MWC concerts. Their repertoire is separate from the choir’s repertoire, although there is some overlap. The group premiered in 2025 and is directed by MWC Education and Outreach Director Sally Mitchell.

Volat rehearses on Sunday afternoons during the choir’s season. All active members of the Medieval Women’s Choir are welcome to audition to join; auditions are held in the spring for membership in the following season. Members are expected to maintain an active membership in the MWC.
